ISO 22000:2018 / FSSC 22000 v5.1 Internal Auditor

The aim of the course is to develop the necessary skills to assess and report on the conformance and implementation of processes based on ISO 22000:2018 / FSSC 22000 V5.1 / FSMS. You will learn how to initiate an audit, prepare, and conduct audit activities, compile and distribute audit reports, and complete follow-up activities. We will also explain the purpose of a Food Defence Management system and the business and benefits of improving performance to explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up a Food management system audit to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO 22000:2018 / FSSC 22000 V5.1 / FSMS and in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO/IEC 17021 where appropriate).

An examination will be completed at the end of the course.

Course outline

Learners who complete this course will be able to explain

  • The fundamentals of auditing principles;
  • The role and responsibilities of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up on an internal FSMS / ISO 22000:2018 / FSSC V5.1 audit in accordance with ISO 19011;
  • The Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, the process based FSMS model for ISO 22000: 2018 and the role of an internal audit in the maintenance and improvement of food safety standards;
  • The PRPs and additional requirements of ISO 22000:2018 / FSSC 22000 V5.1 /FSMS.
