This course will explore the purpose of work permits, their various types, and their roles. Work permits are crucial for ensuring workplace safety and protecting all involved.

 

Course outline

  • To understand the reasons for using work permits.
  • To explain the definitions of confined space, hot work, excavation and working at heights.
  • To be able to list the type of work permits used on site.
  • To explain the responsibilities of the permit issuer, permit holder and the artisans.
  • To be able to complete, issue and close off a work permit.
  • Be able to explain the correct actions if a work permit requires extension, hand over and other issues relating to a work permit.
